The SECURE Act – Best Ideas We’ve Read

The SECURE Act (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement) put into place numerous provisions intended to strengthen retirement security across the country. Given the importance of the SECURE Act and the impact it will have on clients, the Medina County Estate Planning Council board felt it was important to add this topic to the 2020 calendar.

This important retirement legislation reflects policy changes to defined contribution plans (such as 401(k)s), defined benefit pension plans, individual retirement accounts (IRAs), and 529 college savings accounts. Most provisions in the law went into effect on January 1, 2020.
